Hands-On Course on Sialendoscopy

In this course we will explore the technique that has revolutionized the treatment of salivary gland obstructive pathology in the recent decades, learning from basic concepts like “how to develop a sialendoscopy unit?”, to advanced topics like “How to overcome technical challenges?” including all the potential applications. To achieve this goal, a recognized group of expert surgeons in this technique will share their experience and discuss topics such as diagnosis, indications, equipment, surgical technique, and complications.

In the Practical Workshop, participants will have the opportunity to practice sialendoscopy techniques using specialized optics on prepared pig heads and 3D-printed phantoms. We will practice access and navigation techniques within the ductal system, as well as the use of access ports, Dormia baskets for sialolith extraction, and duct dissection techniques for combined approaches.
